I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my stay in Granada. The people, the vibe, the hotel, everything was as it should be.
The Alhambra is spectacular and is hard to describe and even put into pictures. It has been around for centuries, the intricate artwork and craftsmanship done with such detail was amazing. There are beautiful gardens everywhere surrounding the palace. Some had fountains, others had pools with big goldfish, so not sure if they qualify as koi ponds. The draping bougainvillea, a multitude of other flowers and a variety of roses were just as stunning. It gets very hot in Granada and so I was surprised to see the lushness of the gardens compared to some of the other plazas in the city. The views from the towers looking over the city and into the hills were just as fabulous. As the sun set and I was walking down the hill and the lights were coming on it was just as magical as had been promised.
You may be wondering who the bride and groom are in the photo but I came across them as I was walking along the river back to the hotel. They were nice enough to stop and pose so I took a picture.
I'm writing this from Sevilla where I'll be for the next two nights to take in a little flamenco, a few more tapas and some sangria for good measure before heading to Portugal on Wednesday.
